Management Accountant Fluent Spanish
Location; City of London
To assist the Financial Reporting Manager in providing the global firm with prompt, accurate and timely reports to assist with the financial planning of the firm.
The role is global in nature but the primary focus will be on the Latin America region. The principal responsibilities are listed below:
· Production of monthly management reporting packs for the group including preparation of:
o flash reports
o team accounts
o income statements (including comparisons against budgets)
o balance sheets (including monthly reconciliations)
o cash flow statements and forecasts
o aggregations for regional and global results
Drafting of commentary on the above results for various circulation groups (board level, directors, banks, wider firm circulation). Liaising with partners and office managers as necessary.
Development of how management information is used within the firm, including assisting the Financial Reporting Manager/Financial Controller with the design of procedures and processes for effective and timely reporting across the group.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Reconciling balance sheet accounts including intercompany balances on a monthly basis, ensuring reporting and review processes for such balances are adhered to
Maintenance and review of fixed asset registers
Calculation of accruals and prepayments
Intercompany billing including calculation of transfer pricing as required
Supporting the planning and budgeting process of the firm including drafting of budgets and cash flow forecasts for teams and international offices
Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in meeting the requirements of other regulatory and statistical reporting as necessary including but not limited to
annual statutory audits including the preparation of statutory accounts and group consolidation
Office for National Statistics returns
Ensuring information is published on the intranet site on a timely basis
Ongoing development and testing of Elite 3E, the firm’s management information system
Maintenance of the General Ledger
Working on projects that arise within the department and the wider firm as necessary
To work as part of a team but often on your own initiative, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved
To ensure high standard of work output and quality of information
Maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm’s existing clients and to assist in creating and developing the professional reputation of the department and the Firm
To operate the Firm’s quality procedures and information security systems as specified in the Firm’s Quality Procedures.
To be subject to varying degrees of supervision on a day to day basis liaising with the Financial Controller, Finance Director and other directors and partners on a regular basis
To ensure confidentiality and security of all practice and client’s documentation and all information
To undertake any specific training courses identified by the HR Department, Financial Reporting Manager or external training provider
To operate safely in the work place
To undertake any other adhoc duties requested by the Financial Reporting Manager or other members of supervising staff
Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
Worked in an accounts preparation environment, with good technical exposure including foreign exchange transactions and large consolidations
Fluent/advanced Spanish language skills
Confident in own abilities and in their approach
Goal orientated, with good management skills over multiple tasks
Flexible attitude towards working practices and ability to adapt style as required
Self motivated and enthusiastic
Excellent MS excel and communication skills
Be accountable and straightforward
Law firm or partnership/LLP experience
Knowledge of macros and pivot tables
Knowledge of Elite 3E
Prior experience of using accounts production software
