Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?
We are looking for a positive and caring Support Worker to join our service on a part time basis (30 hours) in Camborne where we support two gentlemen with a learning disability.
So what does our Camborne service look like?
This is a really active service, both of the young gentlemen that we support love going swimming and to the gym, and one of them has a real interest in local sport, and the emergency services (fire engines are his favourite). The second gentleman that we support in this loves going to the local youth club and to the local swimming pool. He really likes going into town to access the community to go for lunch and a spot of shopping, too!
One of the gentlemen that we support requires support with some aspects of his personal care, as well as support with food and drinks and supporting with physiotherapy, so it's important that you're comfortable with this.
A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this post, with a requirement to drive a person that we supports vehicle (for which we will insure you).
Interested in carrying on the conversation?
You don't need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you - although, we do work on a rota basis, and you must be comfortable with shift working.
An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
