This is a key role in the fundraising department, reporting to the Head of Fundraising and leading on the development of the major donors programme and relationships with higher vale donors more broadly.
An inspiring local charity who care for people in North West London whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness.
The programme is new having started in 2017 and this role will support the Head of Fundraising and other senior staff and working closely with colleagues across fundraising and communications in maintaining relationship, coordinating asks and developing opportunities for engagement from this group of supporters.
Being responsible for all aspects of higher value donor stewardship. Putting in place and delivering a supporter journey for all supporters who already give or are prospects to give 1,000 or more.
Coordinating the input of senior staff and trustees involved with the major donors programme. Segmenting the prospects and Major Donor portfolio for solicitation and cultivation personally, or by the Chief Executive, Director of Fundraising and Community Relations, Senior Management Team and Trustees and supporting them as necessary to achieve the desired results.
Supporting the Head of Fundraising in relation to high vale donor contacts, meetings, and reporting on the performance of the program.
Representation of the organisation at external events.
Working with colleagues in the events team on developing a calendar of cultivation events and contributing to the delivery of events for major donors.
Developing a persuasive Case for Support that fits with the charitys strategic aims.
Working closely with the Trusts Manager and the wider fundraising team to identify and manage prospects for the Major Donor programme and build relationships for the charity.
Knowledge of current best practice in major donor and high value fundraising or equivalent transferrable knowledge and experience.
Experience of working in a multicultural community
Local knowledge of NW London
Experience of raising funds for health and social care projects
The ability to build and manage relationships and work co-operatively with people at all levels, both within and outside the organisation.
Excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to influence people at all levels, including senior colleagues, Trustees and high net worth individuals.
