The Company

Nigel Wright is exclusively supporting a market leading manufacturing business in the Food Industry, in their search for a Maintenance Team Leader.  

Salary – circa £50,000

Location – Gateshead

Shift pattern – Combination of days/nights with a full week off every month.

The Role

The experienced Maintenance Team Leader will be required to –

·       To ensure equipment is set up ready for shift start, Product Change, performs at required output and ensure lines are shut down correctly.

·       KPI’s to be reviewed every shift to maintain focus on delivery and cost.

·       Consistent reporting of all activities including breakdown repair.

·       Target the completion of 100% of PM’s, using forward thinking to get maintenance done whenever possible.

·       Understanding of health & safety and food hygiene rules and regulations.

·       To assist in initiatives and proactive working to keep site waste below 3%.

·       To provide an engineering function that can deliver 85% OEE on site.

·       Support with PLCs, HMI Scada controlled systems.

·       To review and allocate the workload between the other Multi Skilled Engineer’s on shift.

·       To liaise with Shift managers, Product leads etc to be proactive to the production plan, issues that arise and gaining access to machines.

The Person

Maintenance Team Leader applicants will have –
  • Completed Apprenticeship with a NVQ L3 or above in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong communication skills, working effectively with all stakeholders on site
  • Experience in FMCG industry is desirable
