Maintenance Operative

City: Newcastle

Location:You will be working at multiple properties in Newcastle city centre, all of which are easily accessible by public transport

Hours and Rota:37.5 per week working between the hours of 8am - 8pm. Some weekend work will be required. You will also be on call 1 in every 3 weeks.

Salary:Dependent upon experience

  • You`ll have experience working within general maintenance
  • You`ll have experience within a customer facing role
  • Driving licence valid for driving in the UK
  • Most of all, you`ll be someone who can respect, encourage and connect with the people you work with and the students who live with us

What you`ll get up to as a Maintenance Operative

To give you an idea what to expect, you`ll be:

  • Resolving a variety of general maintenance issues and problems including basic plastering, window and door repairs, completing like-for-like electrical changes and basic plumbing
  • Working with suited locking systems both mechanical and electronic
  • Assisting with fire alarm activations and false alarms
  • Responding to any Health and Safety related calls
  • Completing planned inspections and rectifying any remedial works
  • Logging any maintenance issues and follow up accordingly
  • Working in a lively and at times challenging environment so you`ll take multi-tasking in your stride
