Days based role
Are you currently looking for a managerial role where you can help to shape a department and improve both productivity of machinery and develop staff along the way?
REED are working alongside an Engineering business who manufacture bespoke products for the Building Products industry. Having a recognisable company brand and positive reputation within their market, this company is constantly growing and improving processes on site to ensure they stay ahead of the game and maintain their heightened standards.
Due to a change in structure, they’re now looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the company and focus on increasing equipment and staff efficiency.
As part of your responsibilities, in all that you do, you will be expected to always adhere to the company’s Health and Safety guidelines and ensure everyone on site is doing so too. You will also focus on a Lean way of working and maintain the company’s standard of manufacturing.
In any Engineering role there will be some Reactive Maintenance, however the push here will be to improve processes and structures on site so that this is reduced to a minimum and replaced by a Planned Maintenance Schedule with the hope of eradicating all needless downtimes.
Managing a Multi Skilled Team of Engineers who will be working on multiple shift patterns, the Maintenance Manager will be tasked with utilizing their skill sets and create work schedules for each one. The team’s efforts will be focused on Maintenance, but also Project based too, which could involve developing machinery to reduce persistent faults from occurring. There will be times when you’re called upon to get hands with the role too, performing both Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance.
Within the role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside machine manufacturers and help to develop their machinery, reviewing faults that have occurred, discussing the root cause and finding ways to remove this altogether.
Your role will also encompass HR and Admin responsibilities, including Disciplinaries, Returns to Work and Recruitment of staff amongst other things.
The ideal person for this role will be someone from an Engineering background with management or supervisory experience. The industry doesn’t matter too much as the nuts and bolts of this role will be the same as others and the finer details of the role such as processes on site and machinery familiarity can be learnt.
You should hold a recognised Engineering qualification and also have qualifications in an Electrical discipline.
This company like enthusiastic individuals who can maintain a positive approach to work during tough times. Someone that can inspire others, not only seeing what’s right in front of them but also the bigger picture and strive to achieving success after success.
