Maintenance Manager based in Lancaster. Working for a leading manufacturing company.
Our client is a leading manufacturing of bespoke products, based near Lancaster.
To lead the mechanical and electrical maintenance team on site, reporting to the General Manager.
Manage the predictive, planned and corrective Maintenance activities; managing a team of Maintenance Engineers across different disciplines and managing capital projects that impact the site.
To utilise the Maintenance resources in the most cost effective manner possible, keeping overtime levels to a minimum, whilst providing / maintaining the highest level of machine utilisation and lowest level of downtime.
To organise the Maintenance function to be able to deliver the most cost effective and high service levels expected from each of the Operational units.
Improve on current effectiveness and utilisation of Shire System to become a tool of use to the business.
Ensure contractor management programmes are reviewed, developed, enhanced and effectively communicated.
Ensure all broader site facilities are properly maintained at all times.
Ensure capital projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Carry out/co-ordinate investigations as necessary into any safety or environmental incidents, accidents, etc. Make recommendations on improvements and corrective actions as deemed necessary to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Lead, develop and motivate the maintenance team, conduct annual appraisals and performance reviews.
Liaise and co-operate with the appropriate Environmental and Health and Safety regulators, public emergency services (i.e. Police, Fire and Rescue and Ambulance), and other public or commercial organisation as necessary in both routine and emergency situations. The job holder will be a member of the Company's "Emergency Team."
Develop a site TPM schedule and metrics
Work to providing the site with the lowest level of machine downtime and lost production.
Establish clear and relevant KPIs
Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
Experience of managing a maintenance/engineering/manufacturing function within a factory of diverse machinery, including the management of contractors
The ability to interpret complex statutory regulations and to develop practical/effective procedures.
Excellent communication and IT skills.

£35,000 to £40,000 plus benefits
