Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Engineer

Position: Quarry Maintenance Fitter / Engineer 
Location: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire (Commutable from Halifax, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield and surrounding areas) 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 6:30am- 2:30pm (Overtime will be required) 
Salary: £15 per hour (Plus Overtime) 

About the role: 

We are currently in the process of delivering a significant investment in our Howley Park quarrying operation and have an exciting opportunity for the right Maintenance Fitter / Engineer to be a part of that. We are in the process of constructing a new crushing plant which will be installed by Sandvik over the summer months. The successful candidate would be integral to the commissioning and then the ongoing inspection and maintenance. 

As the Maintenance Fitter / Engineer you will be working outdoors in a quarry environment. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of the Sandvik crushing plant as well as the existing CDE sand washing plant and other ancillary equipment. 

Responsibilities: 

- Liaising and working with service and contract maintenance providers 
- Contractor management 
- Completing risk assessments and work permits are in line with group safety standards. 
- Setting and maintaining maintenance standards 
- All aspects of mechanical maintenance, fabrication of new and repair of wear parts 
- Providing the Quarry Manager with advice on quarry maintenance planning to maintain production requirements 
- Initiating continuous improvement initiatives and activities 
- Ensuring machines / plant routine maintenance is carried out and to ensure production targets are reliably met. 
- Ordering consumables and machine spares 
- Prioritisation the best use of available resources 

About you: 

- Current Health and Safety legislation 
- Completed a Technical College course in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 
- Be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawing 
- Have basic machine tool experience 
- Practical experience of heavy plant maintenance engineering 
- Be competent in welding, fabrication and oxygen fuel cutting 
- The crushing, screening and washing of aggregates 
- Initiating continuous improvement initiatives and activities 
- Establishing and implementing preventative maintenance programs 

You may have experience of the following: Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, Preventive Maintenance, Machine Operator, Process Technician, Production Operator, Maintenance Engineer, Production Support, Mechanical Engineering, Welder, Fabricator, Aggregate, Maintenance Technician etc.
