Maintenance & Factory Services Team Leader
Based in Weston-Super-Mare
Our client is a well-established, fast growing European market leading specialist supplier of sustainable manufacturing services, with a 40-year proven track record, partnering major OEMs, such as Ford, GM and many others. They are an entrepreneurial business/management team, focussed upon improving and growing the business and due to the ongoing success of this, both within core business and a broader market place and, in line with the strategic development and investment plan, they and now wish to appoint a new Maintenance and Factory Service Leader.
Due to the nature of their work as a tier 1 supplier to OEMs, they are compliant with all their required quality standards, meaning it is a "best practice" environment, yet it is a smaller, dynamic company, making this a unique place with which to gain a very broad set of skills, commercial, customer/supplier facing, technical etc. They pride themselves on mentoring and developing their people and it is a culture in which, whilst supported, you will be expected to take ownership, making decisions and stand on your own feet.
Reporting to the Factory Services Manager, the Maintenance & Factory Services Leader is responsible for all Maintenance & Factory Service functions within the business. Heavily focused on factory service improvements and support the business’s core growth strategy. Looking at and developing alternative ways of working, streamlining production lines, installing and maintaining existing and new production line equipment.
Working in a cross-functional capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving machine availability across the business and designing and making tooling that will improve efficiencies and ensuring that TPM schedules are adhered to in order to reduce machine down-time.
Leading a team (currently two) of Maintenance & Facilities Technicians, you will be responsible for organising team workload and liaising with external suppliers to ensure services are provided at the right cost, quality and delivered on time. This role will require someone with excellent communication skills, who has the ability to identify and effect changes, has a positive approach, possesses an inquisitive mind and will constantly challenge the status quo, coupled with the resilience to overcome any resistance to change.
Working closely with the Factory Services Manager and Manufacturing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the company’s maintenance strategy; ensuring that the business gets the best service, at the best price and at the highest quality standard.
