Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Days

Location: Normanton
Salary: £42,000 to £44,000
Hours: Monday–Friday, Days

We're working with a leading name in their sector, known for commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. With significant investment in new equipment and a busy production environment, we are now seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to strengthen the on-site engineering team.

Maintenance Engineer - The Role

In this role you will play a vital part in keeping production equipment running smoothly and safely. You will be the first point of call for electrical breakdowns, but you’ll also contribute across a range of engineering activities including planned maintenance and improvement projects.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Rapid response to electrical breakdowns, ensuring downtime is minimised.

  • Supporting continuous improvement and assisting with equipment upgrades.

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks to keep machinery and site services reliable.

  • Working on electrical installations, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.

  • Providing input into safety procedures and ensuring compliance with standards.

  • Collaborating with colleagues to diagnose faults and implement permanent solutions.

  • Recording maintenance activities and supporting documentation requirements.

Maintenance Engineer - About You

You will be a qualified Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced production setting. A flexible approach and willingness to work across disciplines will be key.

We’re looking for:

  • Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition).

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults on complex machinery.

  • Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and electrical control equipment.

  • A good understanding of mechanical systems or the appetite to develop multi-skilled capabilities.

  • Strong awareness of health & safety and safe systems of work,
