Position: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Commutable from Newbury, Cirencester, Oxford, Chippenham, Swindon and surrounding areas
We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for an automotive manufacturing company with a national and global presence.
You will be working within a team of 12 Maintenance Engineers, 2 Team Leaders and 1 Supervisors who re all responsible for the maintenance of all plant and equipment onsite. You will be expected to cover and attend to machinery breakdowns, getting the equipment and production line back up and running again. Working through planned preventative maintenance schedules, meeting monthly objectives. Working and assisting with Projects, including refurbishments, relocations, upgrades and new installations. The Maintenance Team all work collaboratively with one another, utilising each other’s strengths and helping those in need of upskilling or refreshing. The work will include mechanical and electrical work, although we are open to the level and amount of bias Engineers have in one or the other. What we will require is the right attitude, flexibility and desire to learn in return. Some of the equipment on site include robotics, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics, amongst others, all PLC operated. Those interested in PLC’s may have the opportunity to advance their skills in this area.
The role is to work Shifts of Double Days Monday through to Friday, although we do require some level of flexibility.
Salary offered is between £30,000 and £33,000 per annum, and there is lots of overtime to those looking to earn more. On top of the salary, they offer a generous benefits package.
Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold relevant engineering qualifications
Electrical or Mechanical background, or both
Maintenance Engineering experience, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry
Proactive and logical approach to problem solving
Active team player with open and honest communication
