Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

I'm looking to recruit an enthusiastic, driven and electrically biased (Ideally 17th Edition qualified) Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician for a tier 1 automotive manufacturer who supply into prestigious OEM's such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ford and JLR.

COMMUTABLE FROM: Birmingham, Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Dudley, Lichfield, Stafford, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Walsall, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton


  • £25k - £32k per annum DOE
  • 39 hours - Mon-Thurs: 7.30-4pm and Friday: 6.30-2pm

As the successful new Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician your key duties will be to:

  • Effectively work as part of an existing successful team of 3 Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers
  • Fault finding through a methodical approach
  • Troubleshoot and correct any breakdown issues
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities and update the schedules on the system
  • Provide predominantly electrical breakdown cover for all activities on plant including moulding machines, automation equipment and ancillary equipment
  • Advise on specification of new manufacturing equipment ensuring that it will not provide any problems when it comes to servicing and maintenance
  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies are adhered to
  • Work to departmental KPI's with the objective of improving efficiency's
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts for electrical maintenance work
  • Support the roll out of TPM Schedules and identification of areas of improvement and cost reduction

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician will be electrically biased and have:

  • A proven track record of working within a fast paced manufacturing environment - Automotive or Robotics manufacturing environment (high desirable but not essential)
  • Injection Moulding or Plastics industry experience (highly advantageous
  • Strong in-house systems experience
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Stronger Electrical skill set / bias
  • City & Guilds 17th Edition or relevant HNC (highly desirable)
  • Robotics and automation experience / skill set (highly desirable)
  • NEBOSH qualified (beneficial)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with people across all levels
