As an operator you will be moving various samples through from the press to testing area. Loading, unloading, cleaning and process monitoring of the machines. You will be preparing capsule components including conditioning and building. You will contribute towards a positive health and safety culture which targets a zero harm environment. To contribute further to this, you will monitor machine conditions and behaviours and record and report output. You will accurately follow the production plan and raise any issues you come across. As an operator you will also be required to support other areas when required including PreSynthesis and maintenance.
You will be setting up and operating of CNC lathe and use PCD cutters on granite work pieces. There will be an element of optical microscopes and prepare tools for operation using brazing and grit blasting. Due to the materials being quite heavy, you will be using a crane and forklift to do this safely.
To be a successful applicant, you must thrive in a diverse environment and be flexible in response to operational demand. You must be able to work in a methodical manner and follow established procedures. You will have a good understanding of health and safety standards as well as quality procedures. As an operator you must have good eye for detail and be familiar with MS office tools and ONC/HNC in mechanical/production engineering or similar is desirable. As you will be working in a team, you must have good communication skills and a can do attitude. It will be an advantage if you have experience in machining and working with unconventional materials such as ceramics and salts.
My client is offering a salary of around £23,000 for the right person, along with great benefits and company pension scheme. This role is on an alternative shift pattern: 6am-2pm and then 13:45 - 21:45pm, there is a sift allowance for this pattern.
