Lunch Chef

About the role

This role is to provide a good quality premium meal option to all Plusnet employees, using your own initiative to create assist with menu choices. Excellent working environment great hours and work life balance.

As a Lunch Chef you will…

  • Ensure a professional, high quality, customer focused catering service is provided to all employees and visitors
  • Plan, order, prepare and cook food for a diverse range of employees in a variety of service styles
  • Ensure menu costs are strictly controlled and portion control is adhered to
  • Make sure all ingredients to replenish are available at all times
  • Stock control
  • Receive, record and check correct quantity and quality of food, and ensure correct storage procedures are followed to reduce wastage
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clear and preparation utensils are returned to pot wash or manually washed and returned to appropriate storage area
  • Keep the internal surfaces of ovens clean using chemicals and gloves, goggles and protective clothing
  • Maintain a safe working environment by observing Health and Safety Regulations and other relevant Food Hygiene legislations
  • Deliver any other reasonable requests from your line manager or senior management team

In order to apply for this role you must…

  • Experience in food preparation and provision of approximately 200 meals a day
  • At least level 2 food hygiene
  • Demonstrable commitment to a healthy and safe working environment
  • Experience of cooking with fresh ingredients
  • Be an effective and enthusiastic communicator with the ability to develop good working relationships
  • Ability to remain calm and work within a busy environment working to deadlines
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised, using own initiative
