Purpose of job: To work with secondary aged pupils removed from mainstream education, in a separate setting that offers additional support and care; focusing on education and physical recreation.

LSA | STOKE | ASAP START

Start Date: As soon as possible subject to a DBS within the last 12 months.

Hours: 8:30-4:40

Responsibilities: The Learning Support Assistant's (LSA) main role is to provide support for up to two pupils at a time; ratio of 2 pupils to each LSA. These pupils have been removed from mainstream education and will present challenging behaviour. The LSA will ensure that the pupil can integrate as fully as possible in the activities and lessons provided by instructors and teachers.

Duties will include running specific programmes and activities to assist the pupil's individual learning and social needs. The LSA will be responsible for completing an end of day report for each young person they worked with on that day, giving detail in regards to their attitude, behaviour and achievements.

The client is looking for someone with-

Experience working with children/young person who display challenging behaviour

A full driving license; a company car will be provided when escorting pupils to and from activities

A proactive, innovative and engaging mindset

Good sense of humour and great listening skills

Academic experience is desirable but not essential
