This is a challenging post in which the successful candidate will take responsibility for facilitating and providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of high quality nursing care. Management experience and evidence of continuing professional development is essential. Excellent communication skills are a vital part of this senior post as is a genuine interest in care of patients following a stroke.
Excellent leadership skills will be required in this post to lead the nursing team forward to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care. The successful applicant will have a lead role in further developing the established ethos of the wider multi-disciplinary team towards the goal of a fully integrated, seamless patient pathway that is driven by goal-led rehabilitation planning.
The successful candidate should have extensive experience at Band 6 and be able to evidence leadership skills and their application to practice.
The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a large ward of 34 beds providing rehabilitation for patients following a stroke with varying levels of dependency, many requiring complex discharge planning including guardianship and cognitive impairment.
