Full Time, Long Term SEN Teaching Assistant Job within a School in Rhondda Cynon Taff. Starting in September
I am working alongside a fantastic special school in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The school looks after over 150 pupils aged between 3 - 19 years with a variety of additional learning needs including ASD, PMLD and learning difficulties. The School operates a positive behaviour policy where positive behaviour is encouraged through reward, clear structure and routine. Staff and children alike are encouraged to be positive role models to support each other.
Due to serious growth, the School are currently expanding and are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support them on a full time, long term basis from September.
The School are keen to organise trial supply days in the first week of September for anyone that might be interested within the role.
You will be based within a primary ASD class. As an LSA, you will be working closely with the Teachers and leadership team to support pupils with ASD and learning difficulties. You will be responsible for ensuring that pupil's feel supported and encouraged and will assist in the delivery of the curriculum with learning goals at the forefront.
The right person for this job MUST have;
- First hand understanding and experience of working with children with learning difficulties in a similar environment
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to effectively guide pupil behaviour
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - this will be important for building rapport with pupils, as well as staff members and parents
