Part Time 22.5 hours Monday to Friday
National Marine Facilities, National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Southampton
Salary: £18,190 - £19,350 per annum (pro-rata to £11,061 per annum)

About the role:
Our Logistics Technical Group is fundamental to the operations of the NOC providing a full range of logistics functions to groups and tenants alike. This ranges from:
- complete warehouse and storage facilities
- goods receipt and dispatch
- lifting operations and heavy equipment movements
- freight movements
- mobilisations of vessels
- the overseeing of Dangerous Goods handling
- packaging and transporting
- providing assistance to ensure all Customs requirements for equipment held in Customs Warehouse authorisation are adhered to.
Your primary responsibilities will be yard operations, which includes but is not limited to operational effectiveness of routines and operations; ship mobilisations and de-mobilisations; slinger/signaller and forklift driver CB1/reach duties, for which full training will be given.
You will assist the Yard and Quayside Operative and the Warehouse and Storage Operative in the execution and delivery of all logistics activities to allow the NOC to operate to maximum efficiency.
The starting salary band for this position is £11,061 per annum (£18,190 - £19,350 FTE) . Depending upon skills and experience, a salary uplift and/or additional allowances may be available for exceptional candidates.

You will have a good standard of education particularly in Maths and English and will have experience of working within a Logistics environment and within a high volume Goods Receipt and Dispatch area.
You will be able to follow defined procedures and work instructions and be able to work independently.
A full driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
