To lead the regional forwarding team, coordinating resources, hauliers and ensuring deadlines are met. Covering own area for deliveries building relationship with hauliers to deliver industry leading customer service.
Leading and motivating team of logistics co-ordinators.
Work with team to meet all customer and supplier deadlines flagging any areas of concern to line manager/commercial manager.
Identify opportunities and threats to product line P&L.
Work with line manager to develop a haulage strategy to deliver our commercial objectives, helping to recruit new hauliers who can provide the capacity needed whilst meeting our service level expectations and utilising own vehicles where possible.
Identify and implement increased levels or efficiencies in customer service.
Monitor haulier performance against SLA and hold meetings with suppliers to review.
Arranging Fertiliser deliveries to meet customer and suppliers expectations.
Negotiate haulage rates and ensure grids are continually updated and accurate.
Cost effective planning of stocks and purchases to maximise margin potential on sales.
Participate in audits making relevant documentation available.
