Locum Lower GI Consultant

This post is for the appointment of a Lower GI Consultant for a Fixed Term Contract of 6 months in the first instance.

Applicants will possess the FRCS Intercollegiate exam or equivalent and currently hold a CCT or CESR(CP) or be within 6 months of completion of CCT/CESR(CP), and have completed recognised training in colorectal and general surgery.

The prospective candidate should have a sub speciality colorectal interest that compliments existing skills and practice within the department. Extensive endoscopy experience required with JAG accreditation is essential. A higher degree with research interest would be desirable but not essential. Specific training in laparoscopic colorectal resectional surgery for cancer and benign conditions is essential support by surgical logbook evidence. Additional specialist training in colorectal and paediatric surgery experience would be viewed favourably.
