Venn Group's specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a Locum Litigation Paralegal to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands.
This position is offered on a full-time locum basis with a predicted contract length of at least 3 months with the possibility of extension. Experience of working with a Local Authority would be advantageous and candidates should be able to demonstrate practical experience in Litigation matters, specifically in criminal litigation and disclosure work. Candidates with a background in private practice dealing with litigious matters will also be considered.
The main duties for the role are as follows:
- To assist a team of Lawyers in the provision of a professional legal service to a range of public sector and not for profit clients regarding civil and criminal litigation, education, employment and social care matters, ensuring awareness of and compliance with legal duties within client organisations and protecting their best interests
- To manage a case load comprising mainly litigation and social care matters with an emphasis on disclosure work
- To provide support to Lawyers and act as a point of contact on a variety of cases, to include taking instructions and giving advice, carrying out research, preparing applications, drafting documents and correspondence, commissioning and instructing expert witnesses, liaising with witnesses, attending meetings and providing advice and representation in courts or tribunals
The position is offering an attractive daily rate of between £100 and £200 dependent on experience.
