Locum Consultant in General Surgery

Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in General Surgery. The duties of the post include providing Consultant cover for in-patients, attending theatre/outpatient sessions and associated MDT. There is a commitment to the acute general surgical oncall rota, which attracts set allocation and percentage supplement through an agreed job plan.

Opened in 2006 University Hospital in Coventry is one of the most modern healthcare facilities in Western Europe. The Trust is a level 1 trauma centre and provides general acute surgical services to approximately 500,000 people from Coventry and Rugby. There is a busy surgical take with up to two emergency theatres running at all times. The Trust performed the 4th highest number of emergency laparotomies in the most recent data distributed from the National Laparotomy Audit (NELA).

The posts will be initially for 6 months with the possibility for extension based on service need and individual progress.

Would ideally suit a candidate who is post CCT, within one year of obtaining Specialist Registration.
