LOCUM CONSULTANT IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE (1 Post)

Fixed Term –6 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at St Mary’s Hospital. One fixed term locum, 10 PA, post specialising in Emergency Medicine is available. We welcome part time and job share applications for the post. If candidates are appointed on a part time or job share contract, the 10 PA job plan will be amended accordingly.

The successful applicant will work within the Division of Medicine and will be joining a team of Emergency Medicine Physicians and will work closely and in partnership with the rest of Acute Medicine and Speciality Medicine.

This post has great potential for Leadership development within the Emergency Medicine Team.

The department consists of a resuscitation area, initial assessment area for all patients arriving by ambulance, 16 cubicles in the majors area and a separate paediatric department. Patients with minor illness and injuries are seen in the separately managed Urgent Treatment Centre. St Mary’s is the Major Trauma Centre for the sector and accepts patients following major trauma from across west London and beyond.

ICHNT is one of the largest education, training and research centres nationally; it is the clinical partner of the Imperial Academic Health Science Centre. All of our staff are actively encouraged to become involved with education and/or research, in addition to their clinical role.

Applicants must be on the GMC Register or be within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
