We are recruiting for an experienced Communications Officer to work for the London Borough of Merton on a temporary contract starting asap till the end of April 2018 although this may be extended.

-Must have excellent social media experience.
-Must have excellent media relations skills - proactive as well as responding to press enquiries.
-Must have experience of working in a local council or an organisation governed by politics.
To promote Merton Council and its policies to enhance the reputation of the London borough of Merton through effective public relations, including marketing communications both internal and external as well as media relations.
This is a full time role - 35 hours per week between the hours of 9am to 5.30pm based in the Civic Centre on Morden. The initial pay rate is £16.98 phr rising to £17.79 after 12 weeks.
