Live at Home Scheme Manager based at Burton-upon-Trent

Available Hours: Permanent - Full Time - 37 hours per week.

Commutable from Ashbourne, Stafford and Uttoxeter.

MHA is looking to appoint a new Scheme Manager at Burton Upon Trent Live at Home Scheme.

The Live at Home Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the Burton upon Trent Live at Home Scheme to meet the needs of older people within the local community. This scheme operates across a number of sites within the area and provides a range of services that include social groups, a number lunch group and a befriending service as well as signposting to other services.

It's a rewarding and varied job with a wide range of responsibilities. With the support of the dedicated local committee you will market and promote the Scheme and also produce business and fundraising plans and an annual scheme budget. However the job isn't all office based as at times you may need to be hands on supporting members and volunteers at activities. The post requires an individual with a range of business and operational skills, but critically who possesses a strong drive to deliver high quality services that reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people. A current driving license and access to a car for work is essential due to the travel required in the post - and ideally you will have experience in a similar role.

You will be responsible for line managing a small team of part time staff. Volunteers are crucial to the successful operating of any MHA Live at Home Scheme and the Scheme Manager will also be responsible for the recruitment and selection and on-going support and supervision of all volunteers.

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.

You will need to be available for interviews on the afternoon of Thursday 1st March.

Tackling isolation and promoting independence and wellbeing, Live at Home tailors its activities to suit its members. Our befriending scheme and regular newsletter keep people in company and contact and we are sometimes able to assist with shopping to help with getting all those everyday essentials. We also organise regular outings to places such as garden centres and local concerts.

As part of our ambitious strategy to support more older people in more local communities we are looking for a Scheme Manager to lead the development of a new Live at Home Scheme covering Burton upon Trent and the surrounding areas. Based in Burton, this is an exciting opportunity for you to directly support older people; identifying local need and working with the wider team to establish meaningful services which reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation and improve wellbeing.

This will be a brand new Scheme so we are looking for someone with a creative approach who can understand the needs of the local area and develop services which meet them. It is a dynamic role with huge potential for development. Whilst there isn't currently an office base, this will have been established before the end of December.
