MHA Live at Home has an exciting opportunity for an energetic self-starter to build networks, partnerships and funding relationships to enable the development of a new Live at Home scheme within Bath and surrounds.
The Scheme Manager will be looking at the needs of the community to introduce services that meet the needs of older people in Bath and surrounds in ways that create more opportunities for our scheme members to continue to be socially connected and engaged with their community. This will include working with other organisations and facilitating members' access to their services (e.g. leisure centres, theatres, cultural and heritage sites) or arranging for a local provider to deliver activities for members (e.g. excercise, music therapy, arts and crafts, willow weaving).
All Live at Home Schemes vary significantly in size, scale and scope. Bath is a completely new scheme with the aim of developing a membership of 57 in its first year. In addition, the Scheme Manager will oversee outreach activity currently being delivered in Midsomer Norton to 48 members who are supported by 9 committed volunteers. A Live at Home Community Programmes Coordinator is being recruited to Midsomer Norton to arrange and deliver activities locally.
The post requires an individual with a range of business and operational skills, but critically, who possess a strong drive to deliver high quality services that reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people across a range of community settings.
The Scheme Manager will also be responsible for line managing the Community Programmes Coordinator. Volunteers are also crucial to the successful operating of any MHA Live at Home Scheme and the Scheme Manager will be responsible for the recruitment, selection and on-going support and supervision of all Volunteers.
