We are looking for an experienced Litigation assistant, with a commitment to social justice, to join our highly successful Trade Union Law Group in our office in Congress House, Great Russell Street. Our Trade union Law Group represents major trade unions in high profile litigation such as blacklisting in the construction sector, industrial action and human rights cases. Our work is frequently covered in national media. You will be an essential member of the team working alongside other highly-talented Group members on these cases.
You will be self-motivated and focused on achieving the best result for the clients in major high profile litigation. We will provide structured supervision and training. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities for career advancement within the firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Litigation Assistant with an ability to work proactively. It will be preferable to have some experience of working in a legal office environment, but formal legal training is not essential. You will have a wide variety of duties including issuing claims, reviewing disclosure, taking instructions from clients, preparing statements and bundles and attending court. The role will also involve some work in our Civil Litigation Team. We are looking for someone who will become self-sufficient, with excellent communication and client care skills, and the ability to prioritise. Proficiency in using the equipment provided and operating case management systems, Word and Excel to a high standard is required.
