The British Medical Association (BMA) is the professional association and trade union for doctors and medical students in the UK. BMA Library provides services to BMA member and staff.

We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Library Systems Assistant. Reporting to the Library Systems Specialist, the post holder will assist BMA members and staff in accessing e-resources as well as assisting in the running and maintenance of Library systems on a day-to-day basis. There will also be an opportunity to assist with web page maintenance.

You will have a good understanding of the role of a library and a willingness to continue learning new skills to contribute to a busy medical and health policy service.

A recognised IT qualification at further education level or equivalent experience is needed to undertake this role. You will be a team player, working with library colleagues to assist BMA members and staff with access to resources and services as required. However, you also need to have a broad technical ability and good problem-solving skills.

This post is part-time, working 20 hours per week over 5 days. Working times are Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day at times to be agreed.
