The Liaison Psychiatry Service
In March 2017 NHSE confirmed that we have been successful in our bid for Pump Prime money to uplift our teams to a core 24 model. We are now in the exciting position of being able to expand our workforce to meet the requirements of our extended services.
WLMHT Liaison Psychiatry Services are innovative services providing prompt specialist assessment and management of people in the acute hospital who are experiencing co-existing physical and mental health difficulties. Our move to a core 24 service will ensure patients have access to expert Liaison Psychiatry assessment 24/7.
The team has a mix of Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists, Band 6 & 7 Liaison Psychiatry Nurse Specialists, as well as full time team Administrators. The team has office space within the acute hospital we serve. Excellent working relationships have already been developed with both acute Trust clinicians and managers.
