Job Title: C Category Class 2 - and above Drivers

Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire

Salary: £22438.50

Position: Permanent/Full Time

An opportunity is available for C Class 2 category- Class 2 and above Driversto join an award winning company with showrooms throughout the UK, in addition to a thriving online operation via its websites. Successful Drivers will be based in Didcot, Oxfordshire and will work on a 4 days on, 4 days off rota Mon - Fri (06:00 - 19:00) Sat-Sun (06:00 - 18:00). Company Pension and 20 days annual leave.

The successful Drivers will act as company ambassadors and will have a minimum entitlement to drive category C Category-Class 2 and above vehicles and must hold a CPC qualification. You’ll be a team player, with a good level of fitness and stamina, keen to make a difference. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Drive Category C Class 2 vehicles safely, legally and efficiently as required.
  • Comply with all driver’s hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.

  • Comply with the mobile workers working time directive legislation.

  • Load and unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.

  • Carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and road legal.

  • To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers.

  • To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required.

  • To plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues

  • To operate all vehicle systems including Tail-lift.

  • Maximise first time success, and ensure minimum damage.

  • Report any load discrepancies immediately.

  • Keep company vehicles clean and tidy at all times.

    The successful Drivers will hold and have a minimum entitlement to drive category C-Class 2 vehicles, and hold a driver CPC qualification. In addition, you should possess the following skills and experience

  • Experienced in all aspects of driving LGVs - Driving Goods Vehicle (NVQ preferred).

  • Thorough knowledge of driver’s hour’s legislation, tachograph procedures and other legal obligations.

  • Demonstrable route planning and map reading ability.

  • A good level of general fitness and stamina.

  • To be reliable and punctual, with excellent organizational skills.

  • Good common sense and a responsible attitude.

  • A polite attitude towards other road users.

  • An awareness of health and safety issues.

  • Good customer service skills.

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing record sheets and paperwork.
