You would join a busy tertiary Neonatal Unit with ample opportunity for varied and high quality training, taking part in our rota at a level commensurate with your level of experience. Our Clinical Skills room was refurbished last year and includes new resources. This has provided the launch of our programme of simulation training and there are numerous other training opportunities in the unit.
Aberdeen’s Neonatal Unit will be moving to new, state of the art facilities, in 2020 as part of the new Baird Family Hospital build. The Neonatal Unit will exceed all current standards and is being purpose built to serve as the tertiary unit for the North of Scotland. As well as the new Neonatal Unit, there will be a custom designed transitional care suite. The Baird family Hospital will include a MRI suite for Neonates adjacent to the Neonatal Unit and will be linked to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, allowing for simple access to Neonatal Surgery and further enhancing our ties with children’s services. The Neonatal Unit has been designed with research and teaching in mind and as well as having its own teaching and research facilities, will also have access to a large teaching and research suite located on the top floor of the Baird Family Hospital.
