We are currently recruiting for Lettings Officer to work at The London Borough of Hounslow within the Housing - Lettings & Sales team.

The Role
As the Lettings Officer at Hounslow Council, You will play an important role; of letting accommodation through Council's schemes across all tenures - social housing, private sector housing, temporary accommodation and bed & breakfast emergency accommodation.

Let accommodation in consideration of individual customer requirements, providing tenancy advice, support with benefits and available housing supply, making best use of resources and having a customer focused approach

Location:Hounslow Council

Hours: 36 hours Mon to Fri (08:45:AM - 05:00:PM)

Duration: 6 Months

Rate of Pay: £15.84

Who are we looking for?
As the Lettings Officer for the Housing - Lettings & Sales team at The London Borough of Hounslow we are looking for someone who has:

*Experience of achieving clear goals and managing resources and contingencies to deliver successful outcomes.
*Experience of implementing service improvement changes
*Detail knowledge and understanding of housing, tenancy and other related legislation, proposed changes, and the potential impact on social housing provision.
*Experience of leading on the promotion and implementation of new policies with a variety of stakeholders.
*Ability to interpret and apply complex legislative guidance, policies and procedures accurately and effectively on a daily basis.
*Ability to manage conflicting and competing priorities
*Ability to make recommendations for the amendment of any policies and procedures in the light of changes to legislation, prevailing needs and new guidance.
*Detailed Knowledge of the Choice Based Lettings System

*Strong ability in negotiating, influencing and persuading customers to be able to guide them to the best outcome for their situation.
*Excellent customer care skills and the ability to deal sympathetically with vulnerable clients or distressed clients.
*Excellent organisational skills with experience of prioritisation of conflicting demands in a pressurised environment.
*Ability to use housing legislation to assess suitability of accommodation to enforce and/or end the council's homeless duty.
*An understanding of the process of voids management and using a choice based lettings system to allocate properties.
*Strong numerical skills that complement the ability to complete comprehensive financial assessments.
*Ability to use own initiative to meet targets deadlines whilst maintaining a customer centred approach to service users.
