Our client is an established and successful mid to top end independent specialised estate agency. Although the sales side of their business is flourishing, they are keen to try and develop the Lettings side from the current small trickle into a strong stand alone department. In this respect they are looking for somebody who can represent the Lettings side and market the company to new and existing clients.
They are looking for somebody with at least 2 years lettings experience who has the motivation, business awareness, professionalism and enthusiasm to grow the Lettings business. The current levels are fairly slow, so anybody expecting the phones ringing off the hook will be disappointed. Instead, the new person will have the company's financial and business support, as well as their very good reputation, to develop the lettings side. This will mean organised canvassing, using existing contacts to network, introducing yourself to key parties, etc.
They pay off is, if and as the Lettings department grows, so will your own career. With the company already in the process of adding new offices to the group, the successful candidate could well be promoted to Lettings Manager and Lettings Area Manager on the back off their initial hard work at the start.
As well as selling skills, you will need to also have experience of valuing and taking on landlords properties and be able to demonstrate this to our client, as this is part of the expected role. The salary offered will be made up of a basic salary plus commission.
The successful candidate will be of smart appearance, be reasonably well spoken, have good telephone and face to face communication skills and be comfortable working with a PC for email, etc. As with most lettings roles, you may be expected to work (every other) Saturday, but our clients don't open on Bank Holidays.
