Our Client has some excellent opportunities that have arisen to join our Underwriting Team based at Crossflatts, Bingley, West Yorkshire BD16 2UA
These roles can be based at any of our Computershare Loan Service (CLS). Working within the Customer Operations function of the CLS business, this team's purpose is to coordinate and manage the underwriting of all New Lending applications received.
Operating hours are flexible and include shift patterns between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and over the weekend 5 over 7 days
Permanent - £24K - £26k depending on experience
Start date for this opportunity is the 8th January 2018 TBC, with a 4 week training academy provided by our recognised Learning and Development team. This training will be facilitated at our New Lending Centre of Excellence in our Doxford office and comes with paid for and provided accommodation for those candidates who will be based at one of our alternative sites.
This role will see you assess and underwrite New Lending applications received from both internal and external stakeholders, based on affordability criteria according to Client Policy. By obtaining a full understanding of the customers financial circumstances and obtaining appropriate evidence, you will be able to make risk based decisions within your mandate. As the team work towards completing underwritten mortgage applications with a view to issuing mortgage offers, assigning appropriate mortgage conditions where required; this role requires the confidence to make significant decisions and raise challenges where appropriate.
You'll investigate and profile residential, regulated mortgage applications to ensure the best outcome for the client, reducing loss implications whilst considering customer needs and circumstances.
Working within defined process and agreed SLA's, your expert knowledge will allow you to provide guidance and ensure understanding with key stakeholders across Underwriting techniques and processes, ensuring Client Lending Policy is adhered to at all times.

We're looking for ambitious and enthusiastic people to excel in this role, being able to confidently review, challenge and sign off residential client based mortgages, through investigation, negotiation and influencing. Therefore you'll have the ability to manage conflict and enforce client policy whilst demonstrating control in a constructive manner.
