This Lexcel accredited, Legal 500 firm, well-established and with several offices in the South East, has a dedicated specialist team dealing with all aspects of personal injury work. The firm prides itself on offering an outstanding level of client service and also on providing an excellent working environment for staff.  As a result of a planned retirement, a vacancy has now arisen for an experienced legal secretary to join the team at the firm’s Canterbury office, close to the historic town centre and with excellent transport links.  The firm offers a very generous range of benefits and a supportive, friendly atmosphere.

The Role
You will be working within the clinical negligence team, supporting the Director with the full range of secretarial and administration duties.  The role calls for particularly strong client-care skills and requires experience in a previous, similar role.  You will be undertaking the usual range of secretarial matters including diary management, client contact in person and by telephone, and document production including from digital dictation and will also be comfortable with taking on some elements of office management. This will include liaising with the HR team regarding sickness and holiday cover, assisting with new joiners’ induction and supervising other members of staff.

The Candidate
You will be an experienced legal secretary with a good understanding of the particular challenges of working in a clinical negligence role;
Well-organised, with excellent time-management skills;
Possess first-class client care skills with an empathetic, supportive manner;
With strong document production skills, fast accurate typing.
