To provide a responsive and crucial function in the planning and implementation of legal services for consumer promotions from drafting Terms & Conditions, undertaking overseas legal reviews, through to creating privacy policies, legal waivers and consent documentation whilst identifying and managing risks.
To manage and deliver legal services on multiple allocated projects concurrently to ensure effective and efficient implementation of consumer promotions for our clients.
Who might this role suit?This is a role that is ideal for someone who has decided not to obtain, or been unable to obtain, a training contract, but still wants to build their legal skills and knowledge in a less formal manner.
The role requires a strong focus on detail, creative thinking (for what has not been briefed but should have been) and client servicing (communicating with our external client contacts to help manage and meet their expectations).
Key Accountabilities and Activities
*Identifies what needs to happen when and makes it happen. Calculates and schedules dates.
*Prepares project plans for legal reviews - tasks, dates and responsibilities for allocated jobs
*Creates and updates project documentation
*Provides input to project kick off and project review / closure meetings and reports
*Identifies suitable colleagues to handle duties during absence and briefs colleagues on requirements. Content includes issues as well as tasks.
*Communicate with client contacts via email and phone, both inbound and outbound, proactively and reactively
*Able to spot project issues / problems, identify causes and possible solutions. Proactively seeks management guidance and direction. Implements agreed remedial actions.
*Occasional attendance at client conference calls and meetings with Project Manager or Client Relationship Manager.
*Tailors communication style to client needs.
*Understands client briefs in relation to legal services, highlighting any gaps in information before proceeding
*Reviews Terms & Conditions supplied by clients
*Drafts Terms & Conditions from scratch cover all necessary areas of risk and appropriately tailored to the promotional mechanic and client requirements
*Identifies suitable Terms &Conditions clauses and language styles tailored to the promotional mechanic and client requirements
*Ensures that legal review scope / questions are qualified before proceeding
*Drafts legal review documents for approval by Client Relationship Managers
*Creates and maintains tracking documents for multi country legal reviews
*Maintains version control on all legal documents including the history of changes to Terms &Conditions
*Identifies and briefs suppliers on legal services requirements, manages costs and timescales
*Creates draft purchase orders accurately for approval prior to purchases being made
*Identifies upselling opportunities through conversations with clients which are then passed to the CRM to handle
*Creates materials to maintain and update colleague's knowledge on codes, laws (including data protection) and ASA rulings.
*Other company wide general administration duties required by the Head of Business Operations
*Completes timesheets in real time and uses client proposals to ensure scope of work including time estimates are understood and adhered to
*Keeps our Business systems up to date and inputs to improvement opportunities

Essential role related knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience at selection
Complete a qualifying law degree, plus at least 1 years' full time work experience making use of your legal knowledge, or
Complete a non-law degree then take the Common Professional Examination (CPE) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) conversion course, plus at least 1 years' full time work experience making use of your legal knowledge, or
Minimum A Level education plus at least 2 years' full-time experience as a paralegal.
