Location: North London
Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday - 36 hours per week
Contract: Temp ongoing
Salary: £15 - £20p/h
Start: ASAP - depending on checks

Reed Further Education are working with a college in the North London area who are looking for a Leanring Technologist to support the creation of online and digital resources to support the teaching and support staff.

Main Duties

  • Support the development of online learning and teaching capabilities of the College including the creation of online courses and digital resources in collaboration with teaching and support staff.
  • Provide technology-based enhancements to teaching, learning and assessment by working with teaching staff to help bring their ideas into reality.
  • Drive technology enhanced learning through staff/student training, distance and blended learning support, designing, implementing and supporting resources for individuals and groups at all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide training and professional development including face-to-face and online CPD.
  • Develop interactive training materials on using a range E-Learning tools (web-based, apps, devices, software, video and audio).
  • Promote and champion the use of learning technologies in all facets of the role, including using digital tools for work and communication as well as the BYOD initiative.
  • Contribute to the promotion, piloting, evaluation, and implementation of educational change projects and sharing results across the College.
  • Be proactive in horizon scanning the latest tools, technologies and digital pedagogies that can be used to enhance and support teaching and learning and sharing these with all relevant staff.
  • Support staff to record classes and events as required and make the recordings available via the streaming service to students in a timely manner.
  • Be familiar with the College’s Digital Strategy and to liaise and work with the teaching and support staff at all levels to ensure a growing familiarity and comfort with E- Learning.
  • Monitor the quality of learning technologies and share responsibility with other areas such as curriculum, Learner Services, MIS and Marketing, to enhance the user experience and ensure an integrated approach to the development of and delivery of technology enhanced learning.
  • Maintain and provide advice, customer service and technical support for users on the use of learning technologies.
  • Design and implement staff development activities to enhance the skills of staff in the use of learning technologies and to disseminate good practice in the design and delivery of learning.
  • Contribute to the design of student and staff induction and training.
  • Engage in the researching and testing of new learning technologies including mobile devices.
  • Collate and monitor student and staff feedback to improve the use of learning technologies.
  • Keep up-to-date with E-Learning developments by attending relevant training and networking events.
  • Work cohesively with the members of the Technology Innovation and Development department and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across the College.
