My client, which is a 2-form entry school are seeking a dynamic and reward-driven Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The nature of this role will involve working Special Educational Needs Children who come with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
You will be working with 2 children, one in Year 2 and one in Year 4. The Year 2 child has been statemented with mild ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The Year 4 child who will require support in the afternoon has a mild speech delay.
Both children have support in place, however, the school are hoping the children to not be dependent on just one assigned adult.
Therefore the school are hoping to introduce flexibility for both the TA and the pupils.
As a SEN TA, you will be required to deliver a good standard of Numeracy and Literacy interventions sessions.
The main duties will involve,
*Supporting the teacher in planning different activities for each child
*Assisting with the preparation of the learning environment
*Liaise with the teachers, Inclusion Manager and parents, carry out observations and report writing
*Leading Intervention sessions in both Literacy and Numeracy.
About the school: The school is a 3-form entry school, with 610 pupils on roll. The school has one Teacher and one General Teaching Assistant in class, with the additions of any Learning Support Assistants present.
Recently, graded 'Good with Outstanding Features' in their most recent Ofsted inspections the school are eager to become an Outstanding school, therefore hoping to appoint strong SEN TA's to be part of their success.
The school also has a very supportive Senior Leadership Team, with links to other Primary Schools within the borough of Ealing, working together as one.
Minimum 6 months working experience in Education.
Proven track record of supporting pupils and teachers in a class-based context
Experience working on a one-to-one basis with Special Needs children
Rate of Pay and Working hours:
The working hours are 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break and a 20-minute break
You must have recent and a minimum of six months' experience working in primary schools. This experience must be relative to this role. If you do not have this experience, we unfortunately will not be able to continue with your application.
