My client a Leading Prestigious Private School,

Are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in tandem with and under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator. The Learning Support Teacher will potentially be engaged with all year groups in the EYFS, Junior and Senior School but are based in the Learning Support Department in the Senior School.

About the Learning Support Assistant role…

Teaching:

  • Working 1-2-1 with a Spld students to support progress towards PEP targets
  • Working in small groups with Spld students to support progress towards PEP targets
  • Delivering short courses such as Study Skills, including ones after school
  • Supporting students on an in-class basis
  • Target setting for students
  • Helping teachers to develop differentiated resources to use in class
  • Using an appropriate range of techniques, and providing specific goal focused intervention
  • Developing knowledge of the particular needs of the children on the LS roll and seeking advice from LSC, class teacher and outside agencies as required
  • Making or modifying resources as suggested and advised by the LSC, Educational Psychologist or other outside agencies

Administration and record keeping:

  • Maintaining records of work undertaken with students using online tracking logs
  • Contributing to keeping SIMS and LP updated
  • Making use of school student data, including tracking and reports to inform support provided
  • Monitoring the attendance of students at support sessions and following up as required
  • Contributing to PEP development and review process
  • Contributing to rolling review programme
  • Running and documenting student reviews in collaboration with Learning Support Coordinator
  • Helping to monitor and document MA students
  • Carrying out general departmental admin tasks as needed

Liaison:

  • Taking part in a weekly meeting with the LSC and daily briefings
  • Liaising with teachers to gather information about students
  • Liaising with teachers to inform support work offered
  • Liaising with teachers to inform whole class support strategies and feedback information about students supported
  • Liaising with parents and taking part in parental meetings where appropriate
