Learning Support Assistant

Posted 6 March by Supply Desk Easy Apply Ended

Are you passionate about helping those with special needs?

Are you resilient or not easily phased by difficult behaviour?

Do you have experience in education and/or care-work?

We are looking for Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants for work in East Sussex - in particular Eastbourne & Hastings

We work with a number of amazing Primary schools throughout the East Sussex area who require LSAs on a long-term basis & those who they like to introduce to their students for week-to-week support work.

Position available right now:

LSA - 5 Days a week - Start date ASAP

What kind of person should you be?

Working with these schools is a privilege for Supply Desk and as such we are always looking for amazing candidates to introduce to them. First and foremost the ideal candidate for working as an LSA/TA with these students is that they are passionate about helping at-risk students succeed in their education.

SEN support staff should be confident, caring, passionate, patient and above-all resilient.

For these roles as an LSA we require individuals unfazed by those students who are particularly difficult to manage. Some SEN students - especially those with low-functioning autism & behavioural difficulties - tend to lash out when in stressful situations. This is nothing against those they are working with, but more-so that they are finding either the content of work and/or environment stressful.

It is often that we have had LSAs describe these students as the most rewarding to work with; when you get successes working with these students you will finding it highly rewarding!

What experience is needed?

I am interested in both candidates who have an abundance of experience in working with Special Needs children and those who have limited experience but are interested in doing so.

As well as TAs & LSAs I am also interested in candidates who have experience working 1-2-1 with students in tuition roles.

£££ - We offer highly competitive rates of pay & will always take into consideration the type of role you are doing.

What kind of students will you be working with?

We work with a number of amazing Primary schools in East Sussex.

Students we work with include those who live with varied special needs including:

- ADD

- ADHD

- Autism

- Down's Syndrome

- Hearing impairment

- Language difficulties

- Learning difficulties

- Motor skill impairment

- Visual impairment

Schools we work with include those with daily attendance & residential units in which these students live to get the support they need day-to-day.

When is work available?

We have schools that book day-to-day for cover staff for those days during which some of their permanent staff have called in sick or are otherwise unavailable, as well as those that book LSAs for long-term roles. Whether you are looking for full-time support work or part-time, whether you are available for day-to-day supply work or for long-term roles get in touch ASAP as we are sure to have something for you!
