Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Vacancies in Chester

New Directions Education are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSA’s) for various primary schools in Chester. The schools are looking for friendly and confident Teacher Assistants to work in both their mainstream classes and on a one to one basis should the requirements arise, therefore we are seeking Learning Support Assistant’s (LSA’s) with relevant qualifications. Some experience of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) would also be beneficial.

Candidates with relevant childcare experience are also welcome to apply.

We are looking for staff who:

  • Are able to support all age groups within the Foundation Phase, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and utilise the outdoor classroom effectively;
  • Are able to support small groups and pupils on a one to one basis as and when required;
  • Are able to work closely with the teaching staff and other teaching assistants within the classroom;
  • Are able to provide references covering 3 years of employment and academic study;
  • Seek the flexibility of supply work and are suited towards the temporary nature of placements.

We are interested in candidates who are seeking part time and full time roles for day-to-day supply, short term and long term contracts. These may also lead to permanent roles.

Teaching Assistant Qualifications

New Directions Education are specialists in recruiting Teaching Assistant (TA) jobs who are qualified to the below:

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant;

Duties of a Teaching Assistant
  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head Teacher, ALNCO and Class Teachers;
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress;
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities;
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records;
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
