We are currently seeking to appoint a dynamic and capable Learning Support Assistant to work in a Further Education College based in West London area. This role is available for an immediate start and can be either full or part time depending on the suitable Learning Support requirements.
This Learning Support Assistant job will include working with mixture of learners with varied ages and learning needs, across the College. The main expectation of this Learning Support Assistant role will require you to provide 1-1 student support if needed or supporting small groups of learners within a classroom setting. Although a large part of your role will be between yourself and the learners it is also very important that you can collaborate effectively with any classroom practitioners/tutors during their lessons - if needed.
The current Learning Support Assistant post is ideal for candidates with previous Learning Support Assistant experience and relevant qualifications who may have worked in a mainstream or SEN setting previously. One of the main focuses of the College is to recruit Learning Support Assistants who are eager and keen to work with learners in a mainstream or SEN environment who need additional learning support.
Although experience would be great for this role, the College are more than happy to accept applications from candidates who are passionate about supporting learners who have learning difficulties.
Learning Support Assistant are expected to show an enthusiasm and eagerness to progress and develop the learning of the learners they are interacting with regularly. For this Learning Support Assistant job, it is also essential that the applicant's literacy and numeracy are to an extremely high standard.
The ideal Learning Support Assistant applicant will:
- Be approachable, engaging and encouraging to the learners
- Be well learned in literacy and numeracy skills
- Uphold the safeguarding of all learners to the college's policy and to the highest standard possible
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Possess a keenness for further development and training is demonstrated.
