3 forms, exciting Primary school in Hackney with a difference are looking for a Learning mentor with passion and sincerity to work with their SEN pupils, across a couple of year groups. I've worked with this school for 5 years and it's a tremendous launch pad if you are an aspiring teacher or education/clinical psychologist. You get to see a real breadth and depth of SEN and mainstream experience while learning from an outstanding SLT. The school is in a fantastic, trendy and cultural part of Hackney that makes this Learning Mentor role all the more appealing.

Are you looking to become an Education Psychologist or Occupational Therapist? Or have you thought about becoming a Primary Teacher?

Have you had personal experience of child with EBD?

Has this SEN Teaching Assistant experience been in a mainstream or SEN setting?

As a mentor / learning mentor, have you had personal experience of enriching a child's behaviour and learning?

The role of learning mentor is excellent practice for a future career as an Occupational Therapist, Clinical or Education Psychologist. Having previous experience, voluntary or paid, prepares you for the challenges and rewards you will face within the learning mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant role.

***Learning mentor role to start ASAP and September 2018

***C grade for GSCE Maths and English is a must for raising attainment

***Some previous experience of Youth work or SEN for learning mentor role

***Previous experience with PMLD and EBD will be a big advantage, necessary in such SEN Teaching Assistant roles

***£70 per day for learning mentor role

***Hackney Secondary, 3 forms and develops learning mentors perfectly for their future career in Psychology

Learning Mentor role in Hackney

-5 days a week, working 1:1 with a EBD pupil, ensuring the pupil's attainment and behaviour increases

-Learning from the SENCo and fellow learning mentors, readying for your future career in Psychology or Health and Social Care

-Working closely with pupil's parents to ensure what is carried on at school is continued at home

-Understanding the pupil's EBD's requirements so he can stay in mainstream education

-Strong leadership that has been a part of Hackney for a long time -Superb facilities and outdoor play areas,
