Learning Mentor

This Alternative Provision are looking for a Learning Mentor to work closely with small groups of secondary aged students within a classroom setting. Working with predominantly secondary aged boys who have faced barriers to learning, you will need to be an engaging Learning Mentor with experience working with challenging behaviour. This Alternative Provision are looking for a Learning Mentor who is able to help students engage with learning and make the required academic progress. You will be working closely with a caring team to ensure that students are given the best support possible. This Alternative Provision are focused on putting their students first.

Ideally you will be:-

-          A TA or Learning Mentor used to working with children and young adults with barriers to learning

-          A confident classroom practitioner able to support lessons in a creative and inspiring manner

-          Used to finding creative solutions to challenging behaviour

-          Encouraging participation in lessons

-          Happy to work on a 1-2-1 or small group basis

-          Able to provide support to teaching staff across core subjects

-          A friendly, professional  and dedicated Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor

-          Able to provide recent, relevant education references
