JBD Recruitment are excited to advertise a new position working as Learning Mentorto join a committed team in a special educational needs school in Central Birmingham.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a caring individual who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of students with a range of challenging needs, dedicated to maximising student achievement.
The most suitable Learning Mentor will:
Have proven experience of 6 months minimum supporting and making learning accessible for children with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and MLD.
Assist on a 1:1 basis as well as within a classroom setting.
Manage negative behaviour effectively through team-teach de-escalation techniques.
Have an ability to inspire children, staff and parents alike.
Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum.
Ability to identify and target specific, individual needs.
Enjoy working in a challenging and sometimes difficult environment.
Be able to create an environment that nurtures and stimulates positive attitudes, independence and an innovative approach to facilitating learning and teaching.
Be able to use your own initiative and work as part of a team.
