A large 2/3 form entry primary school in the borough of Hackney is looking for a Learning Mentor to work across Early Years - KS2 and offer small group support to pupils in lower academic ability areas, specific SEN support, pastoral support and behavioural support including High Incident children.
Your new role
You will have a case load of children who you will work with on an on-going basis, offering SEN support, pastoral support, Behaviour Management, support to children with low attendance, support to High Incident children and support to families and carers. You will run various interventions for groups of children including Social interventions, Anger Management interventions, Speech and Language interventions and interventions in core subjects. You will work with key members of staff including the Pastoral Manager, SENDCo and Head Teacher as well as various external professionals such as Social Workers and Therapists.
What you'll need to succeed
Due to the complexity of this role, you will have previous experience of working with children with SEN and those who are High Incident, you will have excellent Behaviour Management abilities and be confident and articulate when working with vulnerable children. You will have previous experience of working with external professional bodies including keeping reports and tailoring sessions to meet the changing needs of the pupils.
