Bright Selection Ltd are delighted to represent a national care provider in sourcing for a Supported Living Managers in the Wakefield area. Our client is an established and pioneering third sector provider that offers support services for disabled and disadvantaged people. They operate services throughout the UK, supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, Physical Disabilities and Homeless people. The main types of services that my client offers are Supported Living, Outreach, Shared Lives and Positive behavioural support.
Due to retirement they are actively seeking a new Homes Managers for this service in the Wakefield/Normanton area; as Homes Manager you will provide leadership and management to teams of Support Workers ensuring the support delivered is of a high standard and meets CQC compliance regulations. You will also provide 'hands on' support for 80% of your working week. This is not a CQC registered manager's post.
You should have at least two years' experience and a thorough understanding of working with people in a community setting and supporting individuals, some with challenging behaviour. You will be skilled in all aspects of management and will have experience of managing staff teams. IT literacy and an ability to communicate effectively and appropriately; both verbally and in writing is required. This will include close working and communicating with key professionals including Care Managers, Commissioners, advocates, day services and specialist teams. You will also be able to demonstrate tact, sensitivity and diplomacy when liaising with service users and their families. The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines is also essential.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering flexible and personalised support that meets the needs and aspirations of individuals living in their own homes. In addition, you will also need to demonstrate a good all round working knowledge of current CQC legislation and housing-related support as well as a sound knowledge of budgets and time management.
A relevant qualification - NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable. Applicants will preferably be a car driver/owner.
Starting salary for this role is £22500 - £25000 - a full job spec will be provided for those candidates that are short-listed.
