Aqumen Recruitment are currently recruiting a Lean Health & Safety Co-Ordinator for our client based in Doncaster

Job Summary:

Role involves supporting both Lean and Health and Safety aspects of the business with the focus on maintaining and improving both areas

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

Salary: £29,000 per annum

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Health and Safety role and responsibilities:

  • Assuming the designated competent person on site
  • Being the primary contact for Health and Safety advice for all employees
  • Auditing Health and Safety internally
  • Reviewing and improving our Health and Safety systems and procedures
  • Training and development of employees on Health and Safety matters
  • Overseeing of accident and hazard reports, investigations and corrective actions
  • Calling and hosting the quarterly Health and Safety meetings
  • Creating and implementing Health and Safety standards
  • Weekly and monthly Health and Safety reporting

Lean/continuous improvements role and responsibilities:

  • Using the tools defined in our Lean Roadmap to resolve performance issues and both internal and external non-conformances
  • Root Cause Analysis of operational issues without known causes
  • Data collection to support Lean Six Sigma projects
  • Supporting the improvement to our Cost of Quality and all of the cost factors involved, including but not limited to:

o Scrap and waste

o Customer complaints

o HFI product

o Rework costs

  • Supporting other internal initiatives to improve the business performance
  • Contributing to the future development of the Lean Roadmap
  • Reporting on Lean improvement projects and KPI’s
  • Process owner for trials, which includes:

o Coordinating the issue of trial sheets and the follow up of the process

o Supporting with operational level trials in terms of data capture and reporting

o Carrying out small scope trials such as foil, foam, label trials etc.

o Hosting the trials meetings and publishing the updated plans to trial originators

  • This list is not exhaustive, the role requires continual flexibility in line with the requirements of the business
  • Able to work overtime at short notice and as required to meet business requirements
