Lead Urgent and Emergency Care Transformation Manager

NHS South West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for planning, commissioning and buying health services for people living and working in South West London. As a CCG, we’re a membership organisation made up of over 180 GP practices within South West London. We serve just under 1.5 million people across our six diverse boroughs: Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth. We manage local healthcare budgets of over £2.3 billion and commission a range of health services on behalf of our residents.  The services that we’re responsible for include primary care (the services you receive at your GP practice), hospital treatment, rehabilitation services, urgent and emergency care, community health services, mental health and learning disability services.

Croydon is at the forefront of integration in health and social care. The One Croydon alliance is a partnership between the local NHS, Croydon Council and Age UK Croydon. It aims to join-up the services available to offer more coordinated support that will help look after peoples’ physical and mental health and wellbeing.  This commitment is material, with the NHS in Croydon led by a joint Place Based Leader for Health, Matthew Kershaw, who is also the Chief Executive of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CHS).  There is a single, system wide executive team, with CCG and CHS joint directors, and a joint director of commissioning across the CCG and London Borough of Croydon.

With the creation of borough based Local Delivery Units, an exciting opportunity has been created in Croydon to play a leading role in designing and delivering integrated Urgent and Emergency Care.

The role will promote innovation and champion the development of new ways of working and service delivery.

You will be primarily based at the Croydon local delivery unit office at Bernard Weatherill House in the heart of Croydon, but with a need to travel to other sites in Croydon.

What are we looking for?

You will be an experienced senior manager, with experience of leading significant change and delivering tangible and sustained improvements.

You will have outstanding communication skills able to communicate highly complex, sometimes contentious information to groups of leaders, staff and patients.
