This Secondary Academy in Birmingham are looking to appoint a Geography Teacher or an existing second in department or teacher in charge of Geography to a permanent position as their Teacher in Charge of Geography for an Easter or September start. The position is offered on a full time basis and will see the successful applicant teaching and leading within Geography, responsible for the department as a whole.
Based in the North of the city this large secondary academy have a diverse and disparate pupil population with a large number of pupils coming from ethnic minority groups. This has helped to create a vibrant school demographic where no 2 days are the same. You will hold responsibility for the Geography department, the curriculum and quality of teaching amongst other duties as well as leading by example in the Teaching of Geography within the school. You will operate under the Head of Humanities and play a key role in the future of the department as part of the middle management team.
